This course has been specifically designed to provide Ohio residents an online learning experience that meets the Ohio requirements for getting a CCW license. (In addition to your online training you must also complete two (2) hours of in-person range instruction with a certified pistol instructor.  You can use your own instructor or find one on our “Find an Instructor” page.)

ElectronicCCW.com’s Online CCW Course is not an NRA training course, as the NRA Basic Pistol Course does not meet all the requirements of the Ohio CCW law. What ElectronicCCW.com has done is incorporate the NRA Basic Pistol Course with some areas of the Ohio Peace Officer Firearms Course and the Attorney General’s booklet on CCW in order to meet the requirements of Section 2923.125 of the Ohio Revised Code.

You will find that this course is not difficult or hard to pass as long as you take your time and review your answers as you go through the sections.

The class has been designed to take the average person six hours to complete meeting the requirements for Ohio Revised Code CCW online training. Like the NRA course and the OPOTA course, you should take a 10 minute break after 50 minutes of online learning. Get up, stretch, move around and you will find you will be more attentive and retain more information as the course goes along.

Please Note: You must complete this course within 30 days from the day you sign up or your progress will be lost and you will be required to repay to take the course.

The class is broken down into eight sections with a quiz at the end of each section. These short quizzes will form the basis of the final exam you will take at the end of the course. We are sure you will find it informative and we hope we have made it fun for you.

Topics include Safety, Ammunition, Revolvers, Semi-auto pistols, Fundamentals of Shooting, Cleaning Handguns, and the Ohio CCW law.
